[Climate]Mother's Day for Mother Earth (May 5, 2008)
Make it a Mother's Day for Mother Earth. In case you missed this message in the FCNL E-News a couple of weeks ago, it is not too late to get involved. . .
This Mother's Day weekend, May 9-11, honor your mother by calling for a sustainable future for her grandchildren and generations to come. Join with others in your community to show your legislators and candidates why climate change matters so much to you. Organize a local gathering. Create a mural showing what's most important to you in the face of climate change. Paint a compelling picture of why climate action is urgently needed now. All you need is a large piece of fabric, some markers or paint, and lots of your friends, family, neighbors. Organize an event at your meeting or church.
FCNL is partnering with 1Sky to organize events across the country. Find out more and if there is a gathering already being organized near you.
But don't stop there.Contact your members of Congress or candidates and set up a time to present your community mural to them. Ask them if they will be Climate Friendly Legislators. See FCNL's new flyer. Make it a community event and a photo opportunity for your local newspaper.
