This week, world leaders gathering for the G8 summit in Italy are expected to speak out in support of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). Bush administration opposition kept such support out of G8 summit statements for the last eight years. Exit Strategy from Afghanistan: Did Your Rep. Vote Against it?
Rep. Jim McGovern offered an amendment to the military authorization bill that would have required the president to submit to Congress plans for an exit strategy from Afghanistan. International Affairs Budget: House Makes Cuts
The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote this week on President Obama's international affairs budget, which provides funding for the State Department, foreign assistance programs, and international cooperation.
